Location: Omaha, NE

Start Date: 07-06-2026

End Date: 10-05-2026

Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts, 06:30-19:00 or 18:30-07:00, every other weekend

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $64 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide direct patient care to patients requiring intermediate care and post-surgical cardiac monitoring
Titrate intravenous drips including amiodarone, nitro, nicardipine, epinephrine, and cardizem
Interpret telemetry strips and monitor cardiac rhythms remotely
Collaborate with charge nurse, hospitalist, intensivist, and on-call cardiology team
Float to units of same or lower acuity as needed
Educate patients and families on cardiac conditions and recovery plans

Qualifications

Active Nebraska RN license or compact license (NLC) accepted
Minimum 1 year of experience with this patient population (CVU, intermediate care, or cardiac)
Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
Valid driver's license required at submittal
Must live outside 50-mile radius from facility and not employed by CommonSpirit/CHI/Dignity
No artificial nails allowed in patient care areas

Knowledge & Skills

Proficient in titrating cardiac drips and managing blood pressure medications
Competent in telemetry monitoring and rhythm interpretation
Familiar with BiPAP, CPAP, and nasal cannula respiratory support
Ability to work in a fast-paced, 18-bed unit with 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio
Strong communication and teamwork skills
