Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide skilled physical therapy treatments under the direction of a licensed PT to improve patient mobility and function
• Implement and progress individualized treatment plans across outpatient, acute, skilled nursing, and home health settings
• Document patient evaluations, progress, and discharge planning clearly and professionally
• Assist with patient education on exercises, safe mobility, and fall prevention to support long-term outcomes
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate comprehensive care
• Assist with transfers, ambulation training, and use of adaptive equipment to maximize patient independence

Qualifications

• Licensed Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) or eligible to obtain PTA license in Montana
• Completion of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program (preferred)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR certification or willingness to obtain
• Preferred: Two years experience in acute care and long-term care settings
• Experience across outpatient, skilled nursing, and home health environments a strong plus
• Strong communication skills and a patient-centered approach

Education

• Associate degree or graduation from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in therapeutic exercise, gait training, transfers, and ADL retraining
• Knowledge of documentation best practices and electronic medical records
• Ability to adapt treatment plans across diverse caseloads and settings
• Strong teamwork, time management, and patient education skills
• Familiarity with safety protocols and infection control in clinical settings
