Roles & Responsibilities

• Verify and dispense medications accurately using DoseEdge and Meditech EMR to ensure patient safety
• Perform sterile IV compounding and oversee compounding processes in accordance with policy
• Provide vancomycin, aminoglycoside, and anticoagulant dosing and monitoring for hospitalized patients
• Supervise pharmacy technicians, including Pyxis management, first dose checks, and emergency med box maintenance
• Conduct medication verification and reconciliation to reduce medication errors
• Collaborate with clinical teams on pain consults and medication-related clinical interventions
• Maintain accurate documentation in Meditech and support seamless handoffs between shifts
• Support a culture of quality and continuous improvement in the inpatient pharmacy

Qualifications

• Degree from an accredited Pharmacy School (required)
• Licensed to practice Pharmacy in Missouri (MO) - required prior to start
• Minimum 1 year of inpatient pharmacy experience preferred
• Experience with sterile IV compounding and supervising technicians
• Familiarity with DoseEdge, Pyxis, Pak Edge, and Meditech EMR
• ACLS and BLS preferred
• NICU experience is a plus

Education

• Degree from an accredited Pharmacy School

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of inpatient medication management and hospital pharmacy workflows
• Proficiency with DoseEdge verification and Pyxis medication cabinet systems
• Experience navigating Meditech EMR for medication orders and documentation
• Accuracy and attention to detail in sterile compounding and medication verification
• Effective communication and team leadership when supervising technicians
• Clinical dosing knowledge for vancomycin, aminoglycosides, and anticoagulants
• Ability to respond to emergency medication needs and first-dose scenarios
• Commitment to patient safety and adherence to unit policies and guidelines
