Contract Type: Contract

Shift Type: 24 hours on, 24 hours on-call (10 minutes response), 96 hours off

Hours per Week: 48

Candidate Pay Rate: $50 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide professional and compassionate pre-hospital care to patients of all ages
Perform comprehensive patient assessments and deliver appropriate ALS interventions
Administer medications safely following the five patient rights and standing orders
Manage ventilators, CPAP, and BiPAP equipment during transport
Coordinate seamless patient handoffs with receiving facilities and ancillary departments
Supervise EMTs and ensure scene safety for staff and bystanders
Document all assessments, treatments, and communications accurately and promptly

Qualifications

Active Paramedic License with NREMT-P certification
Current ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications
Valid Minnesota license plus either North Dakota license or Compact license with proof of privilege to practice
ALS level of care experience including medication administration and advanced airway management
Preferred intubation experience
Ability to work 48-hour orientation rotation before independent shifts

Knowledge & Skills

Strong patient assessment and clinical decision-making abilities
Proficiency with ALS equipment including ventilators, CPAP, and BiPAP
Experience titrating drips such as nitroglycerin, heparin, IV fluids, and vasopressors
Excellent communication skills for coordinating with multiple care teams
Ability to manage multiple patients or situations simultaneously when needed
