Registered Nurse - MedSurg/ER
Location: Baudette, Minnesota
Start Date: 06-22-2026
End Date: 09-21-2026
Contract Type: Contract
Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts, 6:45 AM - 7:15 PM and 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM, every 3rd weekend and 3rd holiday
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $63 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate care across both MedSurg and Emergency Department settings
- Admit, discharge, and transfer patients while maintaining excellent continuity of care
- Titrate critical medications including insulin, amiodarone, cardizem, and levophed
- Start IVs and manage PICC lines and ports with confidence
- Respond swiftly to codes including cardiorespiratory, stroke, and sepsis situations
- Participate in trauma response and stabilize patients for potential transfer
- Read and interpret cardiac strips independently using Mindray monitors
- Collaborate directly with hospitalists in a close-knit, independent work environment
Qualifications
- Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications required
- Minimum ER experience strongly preferred
- Comfortable working independently with minimal staffing support
- Experience with Meditech EMR preferred
- Ability to float between MedSurg and Emergency Department
- Strong communication skills for direct collaboration with providers
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficient in titrating drips and managing critical medications
- Skilled in cardiac monitoring and EKG interpretation
- Familiar with swing bed rehab, pain management, pneumonia, hypertensive crisis, and bowel obstruction cases
- Knowledge of EMTALA regulations and flight transport coordination
- Experience with BiPAP, high flow oxygen, and Hamilton T1 ventilator management
