Roles & Responsibilities

• Greet patients warmly and prepare them for clinical care in the ambulatory setting
• Obtain and record vital signs, medical histories, and chief complaints accurately
• Assist clinicians with exams and minor procedures in a professional, calm manner
• Perform point-of-care testing and specimen collection (e.g., phlebotomy) as needed
• Document encounters in the electronic health record promptly and clearly
• Coordinate patient flow to keep the clinic running smoothly and on schedule
• Support patient education and follow-up instructions to promote good outcomes
• Participate in orientation and ongoing training to maintain high standards of care

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Medical Assistant diploma/certificate preferred
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) preferred when applicable
• Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR certification required or obtained upon hire
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for patient-facing work
• Comfortable using electronic health records (EHR) and basic clinical equipment
• Previous ambulatory or clinic experience is a plus

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Medical Assistant certificate/diploma or related coursework preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient intake and triage in an outpatient/ambulatory setting
• Taking and recording vital signs accurately
• Basic phlebotomy and specimen handling skills
• Familiarity with electronic health records and clinical documentation
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and keep clinic flow efficient
• Professional communication with patients and interdisciplinary teams
