Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform diverse laboratory procedures across all departments with independent judgment and precision
• Execute quality control, troubleshoot issues, and ensure top-notch patient testing results
• Master venipunctures and capillary punctures to collect vital specimens efficiently
• Collaborate with supervisors and team to drive special projects and correlation studies
• Prioritize urgent and stat samples to keep workflows humming and clinicians informed
• Maintain spotless, safe workstations while educating patients and colleagues on best practices

Qualifications

• MLS/MLT certification through ASCP, AAB, HEW, or AMT preferred
• Experience with Meditech, Roche Analyzers, and basic blood bank (ABO, Rh, Antibody Screen, DAT, Xmatch)
• Proven ability to work independently in small hospital environments
• Strong venipuncture skills and comfort performing solo shifts

Education

• For MLT: Associate's degree in science plus clinical training in medical technology
• For MLS: Baccalaureate degree in clinical laboratory science, medical technology, or related science, with clinical training
• Documented lab training of at least three months per high-complexity specialty

Knowledge & Skills

• Expertise in clinical laboratory procedures, quality control, and specimen collection
• Proficiency with analyzers, preventative maintenance, and error resolution
• Solid organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills for team success
• Familiarity with Meditech systems, Roche equipment, and blood banking basics
• Basic computer knowledge and operation of lab equipment like microscopes and photometers
