Roles & Responsibilities

Deliver top-notch age-specific dental care to patients from infants to geriatrics, making a real difference in their smiles and health
Perform thorough oral examinations, periodontal therapy, coronal polishing, and topical fluoride applications with precision
Take x-rays and monitor vital signs to ensure comprehensive patient care
Educate patients on oral hygiene, home care, and nutrition to empower them against oral disease
Manage patient schedules smoothly and coordinate fun dental prevention events like health fairs and sealant clinics
Maintain supplies and sterilize instruments to keep everything running perfectly

Qualifications

Graduate of a two-year Dental Hygiene Program, Bachelor's Degree preferred
Active Dental Hygiene License in Alaska or another U.S. state, Alaska license preferred
BLS certification required within 45 days of start
Clinical Competency and High Risk Competency within 3 months of hire

Education

Graduate of a two-year Dental Hygiene Program, Bachelor's Degree preferred, High school diploma or GED

Knowledge & Skills

Expertise in clinical hygiene, periodontal therapy, oral examinations, coronal polishing, topical fluoride, and x-rays
Strong oral and written communication skills
Accurate clinical judgment and proper infection control techniques
Knowledge of dental and periodontal disease principles and treatments
