Roles & Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for clinical exams and procedures with care and professionalism
- Obtain and record vital signs, medical histories, and reason for visit accurately
- Assist clinicians during exams and minor procedures in an ambulatory setting
- Document clinical encounters and tasks in the electronic health record promptly
- Maintain clean, organized exam rooms and ensure infection control practices
- Coordinate patient flow and appointment logistics to keep the clinic running smoothly
- Participate in orientation activities and help onboard new team members when needed
Qualifications
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Medical Assistant diploma/certificate preferred
- Current BLS/CPR certification or willingness to obtain
- Prior ambulatory or clinic experience is a plus but enthusiasm and a willingness to learn count too
- Strong communication skills and a patient-centered attitude
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced outpatient environment
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Medical Assistant certificate or equivalent preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Comfortable taking vitals and performing basic clinical tasks
- Familiarity with electronic health records and accurate documentation
- Strong patient communication and customer service skills
- Basic infection control and safe clinical practice knowledge
- Teamwork mindset and adaptability in a busy ambulatory clinic
