Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform screening and diagnostic mammograms with attention to image quality and patient comfort
• Execute magnification and spot compression views and other advanced mammography techniques
• Assist radiologists with stereotactic biopsies, pre-surgical localizations, and contrast enhanced mammography
• Document exams accurately in Cerner and PenRad and maintain MQSA-required records
• Provide compassionate, patient-centered care for women with diverse breast health histories
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary breast center team to ensure seamless patient flow
• Float between breast centers as needed to support coverage and continuity of care

Qualifications

• Current ARRT (R) and ARRT (M) Mammography certification required
• Minimum 2+ years of mammography experience with both screening and diagnostic exams
• BLS certification required
• Competent with magnification and spot compression views and advanced mammography imaging
• Experience with stereotactic biopsy assistance and contrast enhanced mammography preferred
• IV certification and competency in invasive/sterile procedures are desirable
• Comfort working in a busy breast center and mindful patient care for those with cancer history
• Willingness to float to other breast centers as needed

Education

• Current ARRT Mammography (M) certification (ARRT (R) and (M) noted)
• Completion of required MQSA training: initial 40 hours in mammography plus ongoing continuing education
• Maintain mammography numbers per MQSA (e.g., 200 exams/2 years) and required digital/tomosynthesis training (8 hrs each)

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in digital mammography and digital tomosynthesis workflows
• Familiarity with Cerner and PenRad documentation systems
• Experience with GE Senographe Pristina equipment or similar platforms
• Strong patient communication and positioning skills for high-quality imaging
• Ability to assist with image review and communicate findings to radiologists
• Adherence to MQSA standards and documentation requirements
