Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate personal care and assistance with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, toileting)
- Monitor and report changes in patient condition to the nursing team promptly
- Assist with safe transfers, ambulation and positioning to promote mobility and comfort
- Document care and observations accurately and legibly in the patient record
- Support a positive patient experience by preserving dignity, privacy, and respect
- Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to deliver excellent care
Qualifications
- Current CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) certification — required
- Valid state certification or eligibility to work as a CNA in California
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred
- Willingness to complete facility-required immunizations and TB screening
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening as required by facility
- Strong communication skills and a patient-first attitude
Education
- High school diploma or GED (preferred)
- CNA certification (required)
Knowledge & Skills
- Vital signs measurement and basic clinical observations
- Safe patient handling and transfer techniques
- Infection control and standard precautions
- Basic charting and documentation practices
- Teamwork, time management, and effective communication with patients and families
