Roles & Responsibilities

• Train and support all users of the EHR and ancillary clinical systems using classroom, one-on-one, remote shadowing, and web conferencing methods
• Configure and optimize clinical content in collaboration with medical staff across inpatient and outpatient settings
• Develop clear, engaging training materials and documentation for clinical staff
• Triage user issues and coordinate escalations to Help Desk, IT, coders, and clinical leaders
• Update application content—labs, radiology, meds, immunizations, and coding—to maintain clinical accuracy
• Continuously evaluate clinical decision support and recommend improvements to align with best practices
• Collaborate with IT, vendor partners, and cross-functional SEARHC teams to implement and sustain solutions

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse license (Alaska or other U.S. state). Direct hire must have applied for Alaska license before start; agency staff must hold an active Alaska license
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Minimum 5 years work experience in a medical setting (clinical experience preferred)
• Minimum 2 years experience with clinical information systems
• Minimum 1 year experience with computer technology (programming, installation, reporting, or hardware)
• Clinical informatics training preferred; teaching and inpatient clinical experience preferred
• Able to travel ~10% by jet, small aircraft, and ferry and work outside regular hours when needed

Education

• BSN preferred
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Advanced degree(s) may substitute for required experience on a year-by-year basis

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of EHR and clinical information systems
• Familiarity with HL7 messaging and interoperability concepts
• Understanding of scheduling, radiology, laboratory, and document scanning systems
• Experience with clinical content configuration and medical decision support
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
• Proven problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Ability to research clinical standards of care and translate into system improvements
