Location: Rio Rancho, NM

Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: Per diem (days vary), 6:00 AM - 6:30 PM Day shift

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $17 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, hands-on care to patients, assisting with activities of daily living
Assist nurses with treatments and procedures while maintaining patient comfort and dignity
Monitor and record vital signs, reporting changes promptly to the care team
Support safe mobility and fall prevention through attentive observation and assistance
Maintain a clean, organized patient environment and follow infection-control protocols
Document care accurately and communicate clearly with patients, families, and staff
Participate in team huddles and contribute to a positive, patient-centered culture

Qualifications

Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification (Class: CNA)
Valid CNA certification in New Mexico or eligibility to obtain state certification
Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willingness to obtain
Comfortable working a day shift schedule (early start) and providing hands-on care
Strong communication skills, reliability, and a team-first attitude

Education

High school diploma or GED
Completion of an approved CNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

Skilled in patient hygiene, transfers, and mobility assistance
Knowledge of vital sign measurement and basic clinical observations
Familiarity with infection control and standard precautions
Ability to document care clearly and use electronic or paper charting
Compassionate approach to patient care and strong interpersonal skills
Teamwork and adaptability in a fast-paced clinical setting
