Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, toileting, feeding).
• Measure and record vital signs accurately and report any changes to the nursing staff.
• Maintain a safe, clean environment by following infection control and safety protocols.
• Support patient mobility and transfers using proper body mechanics and assistive devices.
• Document care precisely and communicate observations clearly to the care team to ensure continuity.
• Build positive relationships with residents and families, offering respectful and patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification (required).
• Completion of a state-approved CNA training program or equivalent.
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain upon hire.
• Demonstrated ability to work well in a team and communicate effectively with residents and staff.
• Previous experience in long-term care or skilled nursing is a plus but not always required.

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred; completion of a state-approved CNA program required.

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in basic patient care, assisting with ADLs, and vital signs monitoring.
• Familiarity with infection control practices and safe patient handling.
• Comfortable with charting and communicating observations to licensed nurses.
• Strong interpersonal skills and a compassionate bedside manner.
• Able to follow care plans and prioritize resident safety.
