Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on personal care to residents with dignity and respect
• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, toileting and mobility
• Take and record vital signs accurately and report any changes to the nursing team
• Document care and observations clearly in the patient chart to support continuity
• Maintain a safe, clean environment and follow infection control protocols
• Communicate kindly and effectively with residents, families, and interdisciplinary team members
• Support care plans and participate in shift handoffs to ensure seamless resident care

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification (Connecticut) — required
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Comfortable assisting with mobility and personal care; physical stamina for 8-hour shifts
• Strong communication skills and a compassionate bedside manner
• Previous experience in long-term care or skilled nursing is a plus

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Valid CNA certification (Connecticut)

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in activities of daily living (ADLs) and resident mobility assistance
• Knowledgeable about basic infection control and safety precautions
• Able to take and accurately record vital signs and observations
• Good charting and documentation habits
• Team player who collaborates effectively with nurses and support staff
• Time management and prioritization during busy shifts
