Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
• Provide compassionate bedside care that supports dignity and independence
• Observe and report changes in resident condition to nursing staff in a timely manner
• Support safe mobility and transfer techniques to prevent falls and injuries
• Help maintain a clean, comfortable environment and follow infection-control practices
• Document care provided accurately and communicate effectively with team members and families

Qualifications

• Certified Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) – required
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or ability to obtain promptly
• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
• Current immunizations and clear background check as required by facility
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work collaboratively with a care team
• Compassionate approach and strong patient-focused communication skills

Education

• High school diploma or GED
• GNA certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Hands-on experience with ADLs and basic patient care
• Understanding of infection prevention and safe patient handling
• Basic charting and documentation skills
• Strong observational skills to notice and report patient changes
• Effective communication and teamwork in a clinical setting
• Comfort working with geriatric populations and dementia-related behaviors
