Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate bedside care to geriatric residents, focusing on dignity and comfort
• Assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, toileting, mobility)
• Take and record vital signs and report any changes to the nursing team
• Support safe transfers and proper use of mobility aids to reduce fall risk
• Document care accurately and communicate clearly during handoffs
• Help create a warm, home-like environment and engage residents in social activities
• Follow infection control protocols and facility policies to keep residents safe

Qualifications

• GNA certification (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) or equivalent state credential
• Current CPR/BLS certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
• Comfortable working the 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM evening shift
• Ability to pass background check and meet facility immunization requirements
• Strong communication skills and a compassionate, patient-first attitude

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred; GNA/CNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of geriatric care principles and common age-related conditions
• Proficiency with basic patient care tasks: transfers, ADLs, vital signs
• Accurate documentation and clear verbal communication
• Ability to work collaboratively with RNs, LPNs, and interdisciplinary teams
• Good observational skills to notice changes in resident condition
