Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, respectful personal care to older adults
• Assist residents with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
• Support safe mobility and fall-prevention measures during daily activities
• Observe residents and promptly report changes in condition to the nursing team
• Document care and resident observations accurately and timely
• Help create a clean, comfortable, and dignified living environment
• Engage residents in friendly conversation and meaningful activities to promote well-being
• Collaborate with nurses and facility staff to deliver consistent, high-quality care

Qualifications

• Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) certification required
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Current basic life support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Ability to pass required background checks and health screenings
• Comfort working with older adults and a patient, compassionate approach
• Reliable, punctual, and able to follow facility policies and procedures

Education

• High school diploma or GED
• Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) certification or equivalent

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of resident-centered care and dignity in elder care
• Basic knowledge of infection control and safe hygiene practices
• Familiarity with assisting in transfers and safe body mechanics
• Good communication and teamwork skills with staff and families
• Basic observation skills for reporting changes in resident condition
• Time management to complete assigned duties efficiently
