Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality care to adults on a mixed PCU/Oncology and MedSurg unit, including trauma and oncology patients
• Administer and monitor chemotherapy and other medications safely, following unit protocols (chemo certification preferred)
• Monitor hemodynamics and advanced lines (CVP, A-line, Swan, EV-1000) and respond to changes in patient status
• Manage ventilator patients and other respiratory support, including titration of drips like insulin and cardizem as needed
• Document accurately in EPIC and use Alaris IV pumps with confidence
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teammates (PT/OT, case management, social work, dietician) to create patient-centered care plans
• Perform hourly rounding and engage patients and families to enhance the patient experience
• Complete orientation, skills validation and the required open-book orientation exam

Qualifications

• Current, active RN license in applicable state
• ACLS and BLS (AHA) required; NIHSS required; ONS/ONCC required or preferred per unit notes
• Chemotherapy certification preferred but not required
• Minimum 1 year of relevant PCU/Oncology or stepdown experience (posting notes 2 years preferred)
• Demonstrated ability to titrate drips and manage hemodynamics; ventilator experience a plus
• Driver's license required at submittal (used to confirm local radius eligibility)
• Willingness to complete orientation and pass the open-book skills exam (90% required per orientation policy)

Education

• Active RN license required
• BSN preferred but not required
• ONS/ONCC chemo certification preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency with EPIC electronic charting
• Experience with Alaris IV pumps
• Ventilator management and ventilator competency
• Hemodynamic monitoring skills: CVP, arterial lines, Swan-Ganz, EV-1000
• Chemotherapy administration fundamentals and oncology patient care
• Titration of drips and familiarity with common drips (insulin, cardizem, heparin)
• Familiarity with lift equipment (Lyko lifts and other lift devices)
• Strong teamwork, communication and patient-centered rounding practices
