Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate direct care to geriatric residents, assisting with activities of daily living
• Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting and mobility safely and respectfully
• Monitor resident condition and report changes in health or behavior to nursing staff
• Take and record vital signs and basic observations accurately
• Support meal assistance and safe feeding for residents with special needs
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control procedures
• Document care provided clearly and timely according to facility guidelines
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to promote resident well-being

Qualifications

• Current GNA certification required
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• CPR/BLS certification required or ability to obtain upon hire
• Ability to pass background checks and required health screenings
• Comfort working overnight shifts and providing hands-on resident care
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an approved GNA (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) program

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of safe patient handling and transfers
• Understanding of infection prevention and standard precautions
• Ability to take and record basic vital signs accurately
• Familiarity with documentation best practices and following care plans
• Compassionate bedside manner and strong interpersonal skills
• Basic time management and ability to prioritize resident needs
