Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate direct patient care and assist with activities of daily living
• Help patients with bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility while preserving dignity
• Take and record vital signs accurately and report notable changes to nursing staff
• Document patient care and observations clearly and timely in the chart
• Support safe and clean patient environments by following infection control protocols
• Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to deliver coordinated care
• Offer friendly, reassuring communication to patients and their families

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification
• Active state authorization to practice as a CNA (Alabama certification preferred)
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification or willingness to obtain
• Demonstrated ability to perform ADLs and basic patient care
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
• Ability to pass facility background and health screenings

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completion of an accredited CNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in patient hygiene, transfers, and mobility assistance
• Accurate vital signs measurement and basic clinical observation
• Understanding of infection prevention and safety best practices
• Familiarity with patient documentation and charting
• Good interpersonal skills and compassionate bedside manner
• Ability to follow care plans and take direction from nursing staff
