Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality CT examinations with and without power contrast injections, following established radiology protocols
• Administer contrast media and start IVs safely and competently when appropriate
• Use PACS and HIS/RIS to accurately archive images and document patient records
• Apply proper patient positioning and technical factors (kVp, mA, time, collimation) to ensure diagnostic quality and radiation safety
• Monitor and evaluate patient condition, transport and position patients safely, and provide compassionate care throughout the exam
• Communicate effectively using SBAR and AIDET to coordinate with physicians, nurses and patients
• Act as a mentor to students from affiliated Radiology Technology programs and support departmental education
• Maintain equipment competency, perform specialized equipment setup and follow infection control and safety policies

Qualifications

• Washington State Radiologic Technologist Certification (required)
• Registered ARRT RT(R) (CT) (required)
• Complete Samaritan CT modality orientation (per facility policy)
• Basic Life Support (HCP) to be completed within three months of hire
• Minimum of two years hospital setting experience preferred
• Able to safely lift/assist patients and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient with Computed Tomography (CT) equipment and automatic exposure control
• Strong patient positioning skills and knowledge of radiology protocols
• Experience with PACS and HIS/RIS systems for image archiving and documentation
• Skilled in IV insertion and contrast media administration
• Solid understanding of radiation safety and sterile technique
• Good critical thinking and independent problem-solving abilities
• Excellent verbal and written communication for clear patient and team interactions
