Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming) with dignity and empathy
• Support safe mobility and transfers, using proper techniques to reduce fall risk
• Monitor residents’ conditions and promptly report changes to nursing staff
• Help maintain a clean, comfortable environment that promotes resident well-being
• Document care accurately and communicate clearly during shift handoffs
• Provide compassionate companionship and engage residents in purposeful activities

Qualifications

• Current Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) certification or equivalent (Class: GNA)
• Ability to work the 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM night shift on a per diem basis
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Clear background check and ability to meet facility health requirements
• Prior experience in long-term care or geriatric settings is a plus

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completion of an approved GNA training program (as required by state)

Knowledge & Skills

• Comfortable with resident-centered care and respectful communication
• Basic knowledge of infection control and safety procedures
• Good observational skills to recognize changes in resident condition
• Strong teamwork and reliable documentation habits
• Ability to assist with mobility, transfers, and ADLs safely
• Compassionate approach to dementia and geriatric-specific challenges
