Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate bedside nursing care for assigned patients
• Administer medications and treatments safely and according to policy
• Assess and monitor patient condition, reporting changes to the care team
• Document care accurately and timely in the electronic health record
• Collaborate with nurses, providers, and support staff to deliver coordinated care
• Support patient and family education to promote recovery and safety
• Maintain infection control and safety standards on every shift
• Participate in handoffs and communicate care plans clearly

Qualifications

• Active LPN license (Alabama) or active RN license if applying as RN
• Current BLS certification from an accredited provider
• Ability to work per diem night shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed
• Strong communication skills and a team-focused attitude
• Current immunizations and required health screenings per facility policy

Education

• Graduate of an accredited LPN program or accredited RN program
• Completion of required state licensure exam (NCLEX-PN or NCLEX-RN) as applicable

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient assessment and monitoring of vital signs
• Medication administration and documentation
• Basic wound care and common nursing procedures
• Accurate charting and familiarity with electronic health records
• Infection prevention and safety best practices
• Time management and prioritization in a fast-paced setting
• Effective communication with patients, families, and the care team
