Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate basic care and assist residents with activities of daily living
• Take and record vital signs accurately and report changes to the nursing team
• Assist with safe patient transfers and mobility, following proper body mechanics
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control procedures
• Document care interactions clearly and promptly in the resident chart
• Support mealtime and feeding assistance, respecting individual preferences
• Communicate effectively with residents, families, and the interdisciplinary team to enhance resident experience

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification in the state of Alabama
• Demonstrated comfort working overnight shifts in long-term care or similar settings
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Up-to-date immunizations and ability to pass required health screenings
• Ability to pass background and drug screening as required by the facility
• Strong interpersonal skills and a positive, team-oriented attitude

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Successful completion of an accredited CNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Skill in assisting with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and toileting
• Competence in taking and recording vital signs and basic observations
• Knowledge of infection control and personal protective equipment use
• Ability to communicate clearly with residents and healthcare team members
• Basic charting and documentation skills
• Awareness of resident rights, dignity, and privacy standards
