Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, person-centered care to geriatric residents
• Assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting)
• Support safe mobility and transfers, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
• Observe and promptly report changes in resident condition to the nursing team
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of care and resident interactions
• Promote a respectful, comfortable environment and support resident dignity
• Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to meet care goals

Qualifications

• Current GNA (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) certification required
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
• Ability to work night shifts (11:00 PM - 7:00 AM) and adapt to per diem scheduling
• Clear background check and ability to meet facility immunization/screening requirements
• Strong communication skills and a compassionate approach to elder care

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• GNA certification (required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of geriatric care principles and support for activities of daily living
• Familiarity with infection control, safety protocols, and basic first aid
• Basic charting and documentation skills with attention to detail
• Ability to work independently during night shifts and collaborate with nursing staff
• Strong interpersonal skills and patience when working with older adults
