Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, person-centered care to geriatric residents and help maintain dignity
• Assist residents with activities of daily living: bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
• Measure and record vital signs accurately and report any concerns to nursing staff
• Support safe mobility and transfers, using proper body mechanics and equipment
• Document care activities clearly and promptly in resident charts
• Communicate effectively with residents, families, and the interdisciplinary care team
• Contribute to a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for residents

Qualifications

• Current GNA certification (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) — required
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Comfortable working with older adults and those with complex care needs
• Able to pass required background checks and health screenings (immunizations, TB test, etc.)
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
• Reliable, punctual, and flexible to meet per diem needs

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• GNA certification or equivalent required

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of elder care best practices and dignity-based care
• Ability to perform ADLs and basic patient care safely
• Basic vital sign measurement and reporting
• Good documentation and charting skills
• Strong interpersonal skills and empathy
• Familiarity with infection control and safety procedures
