Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting with respect and compassion
• Support safe transfers and mobility, using proper body mechanics and equipment
• Monitor and report changes in residents' condition to nursing staff promptly
• Provide attentive personal care while preserving resident dignity and independence
• Document care given and observations accurately and timely in resident records
• Follow infection control protocols and maintain a clean, safe environment
• Respond to resident call lights and needs in a timely, compassionate manner
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to support personalized care plans

Qualifications

• Current GNA (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) certification required
• Ability to work night shifts (11:00 PM - 7:00 AM) and accept per-diem scheduling
• Pass required background checks and health screenings (TB, immunizations as required)
• Comfortable providing hands-on personal care and assisting with mobility
• Strong communication skills and a resident-focused attitude
• CPR/BLS certification preferred but not required

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• GNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of basic patient care and ADLs for geriatric populations
• Skillful, gentle approach to assisting seniors with personal care
• Ability to recognize changes in condition and escalate appropriately
• Good documentation and time-management skills
• Familiarity with infection prevention and safe lifting/transfer techniques
• Teamwork and strong interpersonal communication
