Roles & Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, high-quality ICU patient care using the nursing process: assess, plan, implement and evaluate
- Provide direct patient care and monitor hemodynamic status to respond quickly to clinical changes
- Communicate clearly and promptly with physicians about diagnostic results and patient condition
- Guide and mentor other nursing personnel while maintaining the highest standards of care
- Educate patients and families about care plans and treatments to promote recovery and understanding
- Maintain patient privacy, confidentiality, and accurate documentation at all times
- Participate in required competency testing and specialty assessments to ensure clinical excellence
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse license (Nursys verification)
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications
- DCI/BVP certification as listed by the facility
- Competitive ICU clinical experience (travel ICU experience a plus)
- Ability to pass required screenings and health requirements: drug screen, fit test, TB/PPD or chest x-ray, COVID-19 vaccine, MMR, Varicella, Tdap, Hepatitis B, influenza
- Successful completion of Prime competency checks: Basic Pharmacology, Rhythm Interpretation, Core Competencies, Skills Checklist and Specialty Exam
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong critical care assessment skills and care planning expertise
- Proficient in hemodynamic monitoring and interpreting diagnostic data
- Skilled in implementation and evaluation of ICU interventions
- Effective communicator with physicians, patients and families
- Ability to teach and support patients/families through complex care
- Committed to patient privacy, safety and high-quality documentation
- Comfortable providing direct patient care in high-acuity environments
