Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert, compassionate critical care for burn, trauma and surgical ICU patients, making every shift count
• Manage complex equipment and therapies safely — ventilators, EVDs and other critical care tech
• Perform specialty procedures and wound care, and participate in massive transfusion protocols (MTP) when needed
• Document care accurately and efficiently in Meditech to support continuity and patient safety
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to create and execute individualized care plans
• Support unit staffing and patient assignments while maintaining ICU patient ratio standards (typically 2:1)
• Educate patients and families with clear, empathetic communication during high-stress moments

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required
• Minimum 1 year of ICU nursing experience; Trauma, Burn or Surgical ICU experience is a must
• Familiarity with critical care equipment and ICU protocols
• Meditech EMR experience is a plus
• BSN and CCRN are preferred (candidates with these will be considered first)
• Comfort floating to MSICU, CVICU, Neuro ICU or PCU as needed

Education

• Active RN license required
• BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Trauma, Burn and Surgical ICU clinical expertise
• Proficiency with critical care equipment and monitoring
• Meditech EMR documentation and workflow
• Wound care, EVD management and participation in MTP
• Strong critical thinking and clinical decision-making
• Clear, compassionate communication and teamwork
• Ability to work within ICU patient ratios and maintain safety under pressure
