Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess patients quickly and comprehensively using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation)
• Provide direct, patient-centered care in the Emergency Department and Telemetry settings
• Communicate changes in patient condition and diagnostic results clearly and promptly to physicians
• Develop and implement individualized care plans and evaluate outcomes
• Lead and guide patient and family teaching to promote understanding and recovery
• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality at all times
• Adhere to EMTALA regulations and report suspected child/adult abuse to appropriate resources
• Complete required competency exams, skills checklists, and specialty screenings to maintain clinical readiness

Qualifications

• Active RN license (able to be verified via Nursys)
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
• NIHSS and DCI/BVP certifications as listed
• Emergency Department and Telemetry experience preferred
• Ability to pass Prime drug screen, skills checklists, and required competency exams
• Up-to-date immunizations and health screenings (TB, COVID-19, MMR, Varicella, Tdap, Hep B, fit testing, etc.)
• Strong clinical communication skills and the ability to respond quickly to changes in patient condition

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient assessment and clinical decision-making
• Care planning, implementation and evaluation
• Direct patient care in acute and telemetry settings
• Patient and family teaching with clear, compassionate communication
• Familiarity with EMTALA and reporting obligations
• Clinical documentation, confidentiality and interdisciplinary collaboration
• Basic rhythm interpretation and emergency pharmacology knowledge
