Location: Chicago, Illinois

Start Date: 02-23-2026

End Date: 05-24-2026

Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Rotating weekends and holidays with on-call, 11:00 AM - 7:30 PM, open to 4 10-hour shifts or 3 12-hour shifts

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $28 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Prepare operating rooms and ensure all surgical instruments and supplies are ready for procedures
Assist surgeons during a variety of cases including open hearts, medical, and orthopedic surgeries
Maintain sterile technique and support the surgical team throughout each procedure
Document patient and procedure information accurately using EPIC
Respond to on-call needs to support urgent surgical cases when required

Qualifications

2 years of experience in a busy OR department
Current BLS certification
DCI/BVP certification
EPIC experience required
Ability to take call: one night every 2 weeks and one weekend every 6 weeks

Knowledge & Skills

Strong knowledge of sterile technique and surgical instrumentation
Familiarity with open heart, orthopedic, and general surgical procedures
Proficient with EPIC electronic medical records
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Ability to adapt to changing case loads and extended work hours as needed
