Location: Bakersfield, CA

Start Date: 05-29-2026

End Date: 08-28-2026

Contract Type: Contract

Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM with occasional 10:00 AM - 6:30 PM shifts, one weekend every third weekend with Monday and Friday off

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $59 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide hands-on physical therapy to a diverse caseload of 12+ patients daily across medical-surgical, ICU, and ER units
Help patients recover from surgeries like TKA, THA, spinal procedures, and manage general orthopedic and neurological conditions
Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to create personalized rehab plans for acute inpatient needs
Support patients through deconditioning recovery and guide them toward improved mobility and independence
Document progress and adjust treatment strategies to maximize each patient's rehabilitation potential

Qualifications

Active California PT license required
BLS certification needed
Acute Inpatient PT experience is essential
Comfort working with varied diagnoses including post-surgical, orthopedic, and stroke recovery patients

Knowledge & Skills

Strong assessment and treatment planning abilities for acute care settings
Excellent communication skills for patient education and team collaboration
Flexibility to cover multiple hospital areas including ICU and ER
Ability to work independently with support from one rehab aide
