Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents and patients with dignity and respect
• Assist with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, toileting, feeding) safely and efficiently
• Monitor and record vital signs and report changes in condition to nursing staff
• Support mobility and safe transfers, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
• Document care and observations accurately and timely in patient charts
• Collaborate with the care team to deliver coordinated, patient-centered care
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control procedures

Qualifications

• Active CNA certification required (state-specific)
• Current BLS/CPR certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Comfortable assisting with lifts and transfers; physical stamina for 12-hour shifts
• Strong communication and teamwork skills; compassion and patience with patients
• Prior experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or hospital settings is a plus

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred; active CNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of basic patient care and ADLs
• Familiarity with vital sign measurement and basic clinical observations
• Basic infection control practices and PPE use
• Good charting and documentation habits
• Patient safety, mobility assistance, and fall prevention techniques
• Ability to follow care plans and escalate concerns appropriately
