Roles & Responsibilities

• Design and implement clinical education curriculum for long-term care staff across Sitka and Wrangell
• Standardize and streamline clinical competency programs to meet policy and accreditation standards
• Partner with clinical leaders to create training that improves patient care and supports staff growth
• Support preceptorships and coordinate student clinical experiences with UAA and UAS
• Evaluate educational activities and use evidence-based research to improve professional development and outcomes
• Serve as a collaborative member of the Clinical Nursing Education team and contribute to consortium-wide projects
• Act as liaison for clinical education opportunities and ensure alignment with SEARHC mission and standards
• Deliver in-person and virtual training sessions, skills fairs, and competency assessments

Qualifications

• BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing) required
• Current full, unrestricted RN license in Alaska or another U.S. state required; direct hires must have applied for Alaska license before start date
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for providers required
• BLS Instructor certification preferred (or must be obtained within 1 year of hire)
• Clinical competency assessment required within 3 months of hire and maintained every 3 years
• Minimum 5 years of professional nursing experience, including at least 2 years in long-term care
• 2 years of clinical instructor/educator experience (one year may be replaced by supervisory experience)
• Supervisory experience preferred

Education

• BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing) — required

• Adult learning principles and curriculum development
• Clinical competency assessment and standardization
• Evidence-based practice and program evaluation
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Familiarity with TEAMS, Workday, Canva, Articulate, Smartsheet, SharePoint, and PowerPoint
• Ability to develop and deliver in-person and virtual training, run skills fairs, and ensure competency compliance
• Leadership, collaboration, and policy compliance in a healthcare setting
• Patient-centered care with expertise in adult and geriatric populations
