Contract Type: Contract

Shift Type: 12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM, every other weekend

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $60 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients on a cardiopulmonary telemetry and neuro unit
Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, recognizing and responding to changes in patient conditions
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including hospitalists, respiratory therapists, and pharmacists
Administer medications and treatments, ensuring patient safety and comfort
Educate patients and families on disease management and discharge planning
Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to unit protocols and standards

Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of recent telemetry experience (within the past 6 months)
Current BLS and ACLS certifications from AHA
Ability to interpret EKGs and pass the Prophecy Dysrhythmia Exam (maximum 2 attempts)
Pass a simulation lab on orientation day one (study guides provided)
Strong communication and teamwork skills

Knowledge & Skills

Expertise in telemetry monitoring and EKG interpretation
Knowledge of neuro and cardiac patient care, including CVAs, pulmonary conditions
Proficient in using electronic medical records (EMR) systems
Ability to manage high-acuity patients with a ratio of 1:3-4
Familiarity with high-flow oxygen and Airvo devices
