Contract Type: Contract

Shift Type: Block scheduling; 12-hour shifts (days/nights as needed); every other weekend and holidays; occasional call/standby

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $65 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide specialized care to newborns in the Level 2 NICU, including respiratory support, phototherapy, and monitoring for conditions like hypoglycemia and withdrawal
Attend deliveries as the baby nurse, performing immediate newborn assessment and resuscitation as needed
Flex to postpartum unit to care for mother-baby couplets when NICU census is low
Administer and titrate drips (D5W, TPN) and maintain IV lines
Assist with umbilical line placement and maintenance
Collaborate with neonatologists and respiratory therapists to manage CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen

Qualifications

Current RN license in Washington State
NRP and BLS certifications required
Minimum 2 years of experience in NICU Level 2 and postpartum preferred
Proven proficiency in attending deliveries and neonatal resuscitation
Experience with Bubble CPAP, Hiflow, and umbilical line management

Knowledge & Skills

In-depth knowledge of neonatal conditions such as respiratory distress, hypoglycemia, and NOW
Skills in IV start, maintenance, and drip titration
Ability to adapt and flex between NICU and postpartum units
Strong communication and teamwork in a fast-paced LDRP setting
