End Date: 10-12-2026

Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Rotating day/night shifts, 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM or 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM, every other weekend

Hours per Week: 48

Candidate Pay Rate: $58 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients undergoing total joint replacement, spinal surgery, urology procedures, abdominal surgery, and bariatric procedures
Manage post-operative care including early ambulation, JP drains, and colostomy care
Monitor and administer medications including heparin drips, PCA pumps, and TPN
Collaborate with charge nurse and patient care techs to ensure safe nurse-to-patient ratios (Days 1:4-5, Nights 1:5-6)
Float to medical and telemetry units as needed to support patient care
Perform bedside shift reports to ensure seamless continuity of care

Qualifications

Active RN license in North Dakota or compact state
Current BLS certification
Surgical experience preferred, including post-op and early ambulation
Open to first-time travelers
Ability to manage a 30-bed unit with diverse patient populations

Knowledge & Skills

Strong surgical and post-operative nursing skills
Experience with JP drains, colostomies, and wound care
Knowledge of heparin drip titration and PCA pump management
Ability to interpret telemetry strips (with support from monitor techs)
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
