Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert post-anesthesia care in the PACU, monitoring patients and recognizing complications early
• Deliver thorough nursing assessments and peri-operative education to patients and families
• Support pre-operative and post-operative care across outpatient services including Day Surgery and Endoscopy
• Float across the outpatient services area to meet unit needs and maintain quality care
• Administer and monitor conscious sedation for special procedures according to protocol
• Document care clearly and communicate effectively with interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe patient transitions

Qualifications

• Demonstrated PACU experience with strong pre-operative and post-operative skills (explicitly required)
• Comfortable floating across outpatient areas including Day Surgery, Endoscopy, PACU and Pre-op Clinic
• Experience with conscious sedation and recognizing post-anesthesia complications
• Flexible to work either 4x10 or 5x8 schedules as needed

Knowledge & Skills

• Nursing assessment and patient monitoring with peri-operative focus
• Post-anesthesia care and recognizing post-operative complications
• Peri-operative education and patient teaching
• Familiarity with outpatient services workflows: Day Surgery, Endoscopy, SSSU, PACU
• Ability to work in a fast-paced surgical recovery environment and adapt to float assignments
