Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate nursing care to adult and geriatric telemetry patients across multiple specialties
• Continuously monitor cardiac telemetry and interpret rhythms to identify changes in patient status
• Titrate heparin drips safely per protocol and follow appropriate medication titration guidelines
• Perform thorough patient assessments and prioritize interventions based on acuity
• Float across MS-Tele and related units (Cardiac, Neuro, Oncology, Rehab, Renal, Ortho, ED Obs) as needed
• Document accurately and timely in EPIC to ensure continuity of care
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, charge nurses, and leadership to maintain safe nurse:patient ratios
• Support orientation/precepting for unit-specific onboarding and bring flexibility to cover gaps

Qualifications

• Active RN license in good standing (must be able to submit license)
• Minimum 2 years of MS-Tele telemetry nursing experience
• BLS and ACLS (AHA) required
• Experience with heparin drip titration and telemetry monitoring
• Familiarity with EPIC charting system
• Comfort floating to higher or lower acuity areas (ICU/PCU/Stepdown) when needed
• Valid driver's license and ability to meet the 60-mile radius requirement; be in-state for orientation week
• Preferred: prior neuro experience and prior float-pool work

Education

• Active RN licensure (ADN or BSN acceptable). BSN is not required.

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm interpretation
• Drip titration protocols (heparin)
• Strong patient assessment and clinical judgment
• Experience with vents, CPAP and BiPAP basics and collaborating with Respiratory Therapy
• Ability to manage multiple patients (1:5-6 ratio depending on acuity)
• Skilled EPIC documentation and electronic charting
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and adaptability in a float-pool environment
• Comfort working adult and geriatric patient populations across varied specialties
