Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality med/surg and telemetry nursing care for assigned patients, monitoring and interpreting cardiac telemetry continuously
• Administer medications, treatments, and IV therapies safely and accurately
• Perform thorough assessments and escalate changes in patient condition to the interdisciplinary team
• Document care clearly and promptly in the medical record, ensuring continuity between shifts
• Participate in competency testing (Trinity Specialty) and skills verification to maintain excellence
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and support staff to create and execute effective care plans
• Support unit goals for patient satisfaction, safety, and clinical outcomes

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse license in Iowa (license verification required)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications; TNCC and NIHSS required as listed
• Experience in Med/Surg and Telemetry nursing (clinical proficiency expected)
• Successful completion of Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing and Trinity Skills Checklist
• Ability to pass required pre-employment screenings: fit test, drug screen, immunizations/vaccine verification, TB/IGRA testing, and health statement

Education

• Active RN license required; ADN or BSN in Nursing (BSN preferred)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong telemetry monitoring and arrhythmia recognition skills
• Proficient in med/surg nursing assessments and interventions
• Excellent clinical judgment and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment
• Clear, timely documentation and effective verbal communication with teams and families
• Familiarity with unit-based competency testing and best practices for patient safety
• Teamwork mindset and flexibility to work night shifts every other week
