Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess, triage and stabilize emergency patients quickly and confidently
• Provide compassionate, evidence-based care across a broad range of acute presentations
• Manage ED holds and transitions of care when needed to keep flow moving
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers and multidisciplinary teams to optimize outcomes
• Perform timely documentation and handoffs in the electronic health record
• Complete Trinity specialty competency testing and maintain skills via the Trinity Skills Checklist
• Maintain patient and staff safety through infection control practices and respirator evaluations

Qualifications

• Active RN license (state verification required)
• Current BLS, PALS, ACLS and TNCC certifications
• Comfortable managing ED holds and performing emergency nursing duties
• Completion of Trinity specialty competency testing and Trinity Skills Checklist as required
• Required personal health items: fit test/respirator evaluation, immunizations (Tdap, COVID-19, MMR, Hep B, Varicella), influenza vaccine, 2-step PPD OR IGRA, physical/health statement, and 10-panel drug screen

Knowledge & Skills

• Emergency nursing and ED holds management
• Triage and trauma assessment
• Pediatric and adult life support skills (PALS, ACLS)
• Strong clinical decision-making and prioritization under pressure
• Clear patient and family communication during high-stress situations
• Familiarity with competency testing and skills checklists
• Accurate and timely electronic health record documentation
