Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert respiratory assessment, treatment and ongoing evaluation for patients with respiratory insufficiency, asthma, pneumonia and COPD
• Deliver and manage therapies using CPAP, BIPAP, nebulizers, suction devices and oxygen cylinders/concentrators
• Respond promptly to acute respiratory events and contribute to 1:1 or 2:1 patient care as needed
• Document patient care accurately in Meditech and communicate findings clearly to the interdisciplinary team
• Collaborate with physicians and nursing staff to develop and adjust respiratory care plans
• Promote patient safety and infection control while mentoring and supporting colleagues on the unit

Qualifications

• Active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential and state licensure
• BLS, ACLS & PALS — absolute must-haves (candidates without these will not be considered)
• Minimum 2 years of current acute care hospital RRT experience
• Experience with CPAP/BIPAP, nebulizers, suction equipment, oxygen systems and bedside respiratory care
• Comfortable working nights and responding to variable on-call volume
• ICU experience and Meditech EMR experience are preferred but not required

Education

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential and required state licensure

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient with CPAP and BIPAP setup, monitoring and troubleshooting
• Strong airway management skills including suctioning and oxygen therapy
• Experience with nebulizer therapies and respiratory equipment maintenance
• Familiarity with Meditech EMR for charting and order verification
• Critical thinking, strong communication and team-oriented approach in fast-paced settings
• Ability to manage high-acuity patients and work effectively in 1:1 or 2:1 care situations
