Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate PICU nursing care for critically ill pediatric patients
• Manage ventilators and perform hemodynamic monitoring to support patient stability
• Perform procedures such as IV starts, central line dressing changes, trach care, and tube feeding/placement
• Monitor intracranial pressure (ICP) and respond promptly to changes in patient condition
• Document patient care accurately and thoroughly in Cerner
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to develop and execute individualized care plans
• Support a safe patient experience by adhering to unit policies, staffing ratios, and infection control practices

Qualifications

• Current, active RN license (state licensing as required for assignment)
• PALS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience (per job data) with at least 1 year of PICU experience preferred/required by the unit
• Comfort and demonstrated skill in ventilator management, hemodynamic monitoring, and critical care procedures
• Ability to work rotating night shifts and meet scheduling requirement of 3 weekends per 6-week schedule

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient with Cerner electronic documentation
• Experience with ventilator management and Alaris infusion pumps
• Skilled in hemodynamic monitoring and ICP interpretation
• Competent in trach care, central line dressing changes, IV starts, and tube feedings
• Strong critical thinking and rapid assessment skills in a high-acuity PICU environment
• Effective communication and teamwork within multidisciplinary care teams
