Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based OB/GYN nursing care to patients across labor, delivery and postpartum settings
• Perform maternal and newborn assessments, monitor fetal status, and intervene when necessary
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments safely and accurately
• Collaborate closely with OB/GYN providers, midwives, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care
• Document patient care, assessments and interventions clearly and professionally in the medical record
• Educate patients and families on prenatal, labor, postpartum and newborn care in a friendly, culturally sensitive way
• Respond promptly to changes in patient condition and participate in emergency procedures when needed

Qualifications

• Current, active RN license (state licensure or compact RN license valid for practice in Texas)
• Minimum 1 year of recent OB/GYN or maternal-newborn nursing experience
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Advanced certifications (e.g., NRP/ACLS) preferred where applicable
• Current immunizations and ability to complete facility credentialing for travel assignments
• Strong patient communication skills and ability to work well in multidisciplinary teams

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) (ADN required; BSN preferred)

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in maternal and newborn assessments and postpartum care
• Experience with fetal monitoring and interpretation of tracings
• Proficient in IV therapy, medication administration and labor support
• Solid clinical judgment and ability to prioritize in urgent situations
• Comfortable with electronic health record documentation and clear charting
• Culturally sensitive care and strong patient education skills
