Roles & Responsibilities

• Circulate in the OR for C-section deliveries, ensuring smooth workflow and patient safety
• Provide hands-on labor support and fetal monitoring during active labor
• Manage inductions and oxytocin protocol safely and according to unit guidelines
• Deliver postpartum care and patient education to new parents
• Collaborate with physicians, anesthesia and neonatal teams during procedures and emergencies
• Document care accurately in CPN and Meditech to maintain continuity and compliance
• Respond to maternal hemorrhage and severe hypertensive events following unit protocols

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Texas or eligibility to obtain Texas RN licensure
• Minimum 1 year experience in Labor and Delivery preferred
• Must have L&D experience including circulating in OR for C-sections
• Current BLS, ACLS and NRP certifications required
• Experience with fetal monitoring, oxytocin protocol and common OB procedures
• Comfortable using CPN and Meditech EMR systems

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN, diploma or BSN). BSN preferred but not required
• Current RN licensure and required certifications as noted in qualifications

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in electronic medical records: CPN and Meditech
• Strong fetal monitoring interpretation and maternal assessment skills
• Skilled in perioperative circulation for C-sections and PACU care
• Knowledge of L&D protocols including induction, magnesium sulfate and hemorrhage management
• Excellent communication, teamwork and patient education abilities
• Ability to handle fast-paced, high-acuity obstetric situations calmly and effectively
