Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic sonographic examinations of all requested body parts for radiologist interpretation
• Apply professional judgment and radiation protection principles during procedures
• Maintain accurate patient records and ensure neat, organized work area
• Participate in and assume responsibility for departmental quality assurance activities
• Care for transducers and Trophon station, and assist with ultrasound invasive procedures when needed
• Collaborate with referring physicians and contribute to policy and procedure development
• Provide safe patient transfers to and from imaging and deliver compassionate, age-appropriate care
• Cover departmental duties in the absence of supervision and support team initiatives

Qualifications

• Current ARDMS certification in at least one category (required)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (required)
• Ability to perform all diagnostic exams related to assigned ultrasound modality
• Willingness to pursue additional RDMS categories and continuing education
• Ability to rotate shifts and travel to various SEARHC sites as required

Education

• Current ARDMS in one category (explicit requirement)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association (explicit requirement)

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency in abdominal and OB/GYN ultrasound exams
• Experience with vascular and cardiac ultrasound is a plus
• Familiarity with transducer care, documentation, and quality assurance processes
• Understanding of patient growth and development across the lifespan and age-appropriate care
• Strong communication skills and ability to work well under stress
• Comfortable contributing to accreditation efforts and departmental policies
