Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to critically ill neonates in a Level 3 NICU
• Manage advanced respiratory support including ventilators, CPAP, and oscillators to stabilize newborns
• Perform and assist with unit procedures such as PICC/UAC/UVC placement, intubation, lumbar puncture, chest tube care, and exchange transfusions
• Collaborate with neonatologists, respiratory therapists, and interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the EMR (Meditech) to ensure continuity of care and compliance
• Monitor and operate neonatal equipment including warmers, incubators, bili lights, pumps, and infant scales
• Deliver family-centered care and educate parents on care plans, discharge needs, and safe handling
• Participate in unit quality improvement initiatives and support a positive, teamwork-focused culture

Qualifications

• Active RN license (eligible to practice in the assignment state) - compact license accepted where applicable
• Minimum 1 year of NICU experience (experience listed as 1 in the job posting)
• BLS and NRP certifications - required
• Comfortable with neonatal respiratory management and advanced NICU procedures
• Demonstrated teamwork, professional communication, and a positive attitude
• Ability to document in Meditech or other EMR systems; prior Meditech experience is a plus

Knowledge & Skills

• Expertise in neonatal resuscitation and stabilization
• Ventilator management, CPAP, and oscillator experience
• Familiarity with neonatal equipment like warmers, incubators, bili lights, syringe and IV pumps
• Procedural experience: PICC, UAC/UVC, intubation, lumbar puncture, chest tube care, exchange transfusion
• STABLE program knowledge considered a plus
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and family education skills
• Comfort using Meditech for charting and care coordination
