Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered care during the overnight shift to ensure safety and comfort
• Perform thorough patient assessments and communicate findings clearly to the care team
• Administer medications and treatments safely and document all care accurately
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate timely care transitions
• Respond promptly to urgent situations and escalate concerns following established protocols
• Educate patients and families about care plans and post-discharge instructions in a respectful way
• Maintain accurate and timely electronic health record documentation

Qualifications

• Current California Registered Nurse (RN) license or eligibility to obtain one
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS or other advanced certifications a plus
• Comfortable working night (NOC) shifts and managing overnight patient needs
• Strong critical thinking and clinical assessment skills
• Professional bedside manner and ability to communicate effectively with patients and team members
• Recent acute care or medical-surgical experience preferred

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Successful completion of an accredited nursing program and passing the NCLEX-RN

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in patient assessment, monitoring, and documentation
• Medication administration and IV management knowledge
• Familiarity with electronic medical records and accurate charting practices
• Ability to prioritize care and manage time effectively during overnight shifts
• Infection prevention, patient safety, and clinical protocol adherence
