Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide patient-centered postpartum nursing care in collaboration with families following ANA standards
• Perform thorough assessments, develop individualized care plans, implement nursing interventions, and evaluate patient progress
• Document patient care and clinical findings accurately and promptly in EPIC
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure safe transitions of care
• Educate patients and families on postpartum recovery, infant care, and discharge planning
• Maintain required competencies through skills checklists and specialty exams

Qualifications

• Postpartum nursing experience required
• Active Rhode Island RN license required
• EPIC proficiency required for documentation and charting
• Current BLS and NRP certifications required
• COVID-19 vaccination required and compliance with employer immunization policies
• English proficiency required for clear communication with patients and team
• Completion of required specialty competencies and employer checklists (CNE Skills, Pharmacology, EKG, etc.)

Education

• Active Rhode Island RN license (required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong postpartum and newborn care knowledge
• Skilled in patient assessment, care planning, interventions, and evaluation
• Proficient documentation practices within EPIC
• Effective communication and family-centered teaching skills
• Ability to meet specialty competency requirements and demonstrate clinical skills
• Infection control and safety practices including fit testing and vaccine protocols
